Premium subscription
Whalik is designed so that all core features are available for free. The Premium subscription is there for one reason only — so that your learning isn’t interrupted by ads.
What’s included in the free tier
The free tier is full-featured Whalik:
- AI card generation on a topic and from your own word list.
- All three modes for working with cards: deck browsing, audio playback, practice with spaced repetition.
- Organizing decks into folders and moving cards between decks.
- Export and import of data for transfers and backups.
- Choice of narration voice for each learning language.
The cost of the free tier is built-in advertising. During study, ad breaks appear from time to time; during audio, playback occasionally stops for an ad that needs to be watched before you can continue. These interruptions aren’t frequent (usually no more often than once every 10+ minutes), but they’re noticeable in long sessions.
What Premium gives you
The only difference between Premium and the free tier is no ad interruptions. All other features (AI, modes, folders, export, voice selection, background audio with the screen locked) are already available for free.
In practice this means three things:
- During practice no ad inserts pop up between cards — nothing distracts from memorization.
- In audio mode cards play in sequence from the start of the deck to the end without ad stops — you can comfortably listen for long sessions.
- In the background (with the screen locked or when you’ve switched to another app) audio keeps playing without interruption. On the free tier, background playback works too, but ad stops are more keenly felt there: to continue, you have to unlock the screen and watch an ad.
How to subscribe
- In the app, open Settings → Manage subscription.
- Choose one of the available plans. Prices and plan durations are shown by Google Play directly in the purchase dialog, in your local currency.
- Confirm the purchase via the standard Google Play dialog. Whalik does not process your card directly — all payments go through Google.
- After a successful payment, the subscription activates immediately and ads stop appearing.
Canceling the subscription
The subscription is managed through Google Play: Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions. You can cancel at any time: until the end of the paid period Premium will stay active, after which you won’t be billed again.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google’s general rules. If something went wrong with your subscription, write to us at support@whalik.com.
